Strata UAV flies aerial application and crop mapping across Holtville — the Carrot Capital of the World, out on the valley's east side, in Imperial County. From our Carlsbad base we spray carrots, alfalfa, sugar beets, onions, and winter vegetables on the groves and fields around El Centro, Heber, and Imperial, with even-coverage or variable-rate application flown under FAA Part 137 and a California Qualified Applicator License.

Holtville's carrot and vegetable ground runs east toward the East Highline Canal and the mesa beyond — the side of the valley where field edges matter most. We fly RTK-logged swaths with label buffers held at the canals and drains, and schedule around the harvest crews working carrots from December into spring. You keep your PCA and supply the product; we bring the aircraft and the licensed pilot.

  • Can you cover carrot and onion beds without tracking them up?
    That's the whole argument for the aircraft — nothing touches the beds. Wet ground, dense canopy late in the season, tight row spacing: the T100 covers it evenly from above while a ground rig would be cutting ruts or waiting for the field to dry.
  • Some of our blocks have bees in them for seed crops — can you work around that?
    Yes. We follow the label's pollinator restrictions to the letter and time flights with your PCA and the beekeeper — early or late, when the label allows and the bees aren't working. The application log shows when and where every swath went on.
  • How does scheduling work with you coming from Carlsbad?
    We plan Imperial Valley trips so work around Holtville, El Centro, and Heber stacks together, and any travel is quoted upfront — never a surprise on the invoice. Once we're in the valley, hitting a follow-up block across town is easy.
