Drone crop spraying in Indio.

Strata UAV flies aerial application and crop mapping across Indiothe City of Festivals, with the east valley's date gardens and table-grape vineyards at its back door, in Riverside County. From our Carlsbad base we spray dates, table grapes, citrus, and peppers & row vegetables on the groves and fields around Coachella, Thermal, and Mecca, with even-coverage or variable-rate application flown under FAA Part 137 and a California Qualified Applicator License.

Date palms put the crop forty feet in the air, where no ground rig was ever going to reach it — the T100 works directly over the crowns, radar and Lidar holding height palm by palm. Down at trellis level, the table grapes and pepper ground around Coachella, Thermal, and Mecca fly at first light, before the desert heat and afternoon wind take the day. You keep your PCA and supply the product; we bring the aircraft and the licensed pilot.

Local questions

What Indio growers ask us

  • Can you actually treat the crowns of mature date palms?
Yes — that's the point of going aerial in date country. The T100 flies terrain-following passes directly over the canopy and drives material down into the crown with rotor downwash, at heights where towers and ladders stop being practical.
  • Coachella grapes ship early — can you work around harvest?
We plan around it. The east valley picks some of the earliest table grapes in the country, so pre-harvest intervals run the calendar — we fly to the label's PHI and your picking schedule, and we're used to tight turnarounds.
  • How do you handle desert heat and wind?
First-light starts, wind limits straight off the label, and quick battery swaps so the cool hours count. A two-person crew and one aircraft are usually off the block before the wind comes up.
